About this Course
This course provides training for staff who are required to set up and work with Traffic Control Plans. Note that this course does NOT qualify participants to select or modify existing traffic control plans (Red Card) or control traffic with a Stop/Slow bat (Blue Card). Designed by the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority, this one day course will provide participants with the required knowledge and skills to set up and close down traffic control devices and be able to identify the safety implications of traffic control at road works. Note that to take part in this course you must have adequate literacy and a Construction Induction certificate (Green/White Card or equivalent from other states). Course Duration
1 Day (certificates issued on the day upon successful completion of the course).
Location
The course will be conducted at our CBD training facility: Level 3, 283-285 Clarence Street, Sydney.
(1 minutes walk from Town Hall station).
Subjects Covered
Topics covered in this course include the following:
- Identify safety implications of traffic control at road works and personal responsibilities
- Set up and close down traffic control devices according to a nominated traffc control plan to OHS and legislative requirements.
- Operate a 2-way radio correctly
- Check, clean and store equipment on completion of work and close down a traffic control plan
Training Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course participants will receive an RTA approved Statement of Completion in “OHS Work Activity Training - Apply Traffic Control Plans” - issued on the day. In addition the RTA will also issue an Apply Traffic Control Plans Yellow Card. These cards will be forwarded by the RTA to our CBD office for collection by participants at: Level 3, 283-285 Clarence Street, Sydney 2000 or alternatively can be mailed to them if a mailing address is organised on the day of training.
** FOR THOSE COLLECTING CARDS FROM OUR OFFICE, YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BY PHONE OR TEXT THAT YOUR CARD HAS ARRIVED. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE CARDS TO THE RTA IF NOT COLLECTED WITHIN 3 MONTHS FROM NOTIFICATION OF ARRIVAL.
What You Need to Bring
Please ensure you bring originals of the following:
- OHS General Induction for Construction Work in NSW (Green/White Card OR equivalent qualifications obtained in other Australian states)
- A pen
