The Traffic Control Plan – Yellow Card is required to set up and work with a traffic control plan (TCP). This course does not qualify participants to design, select or modify traffic control plans or control traffic with a Stop/Slow bat but it does allow you work with TCPs. What is the Traffic Control Plan – Yellow card exactly?

The Yellow Cars course Sydney is geared towards any person who may be required to work with a Traffic Control Plan which is issued by supervisors or line managers.  Please note as aforementioned, this course does not qualify participants to select or modify existing Traffic Control Plans, (see Select and Modify Traffic Control Plans - RTA Red Card training course) or control traffic with a ‘stop/slow bat’, the see Traffic Controller - RTA Blue Card training course).

What prerequisite courses (prior learning) do you need?

The prerequisite for this course is the OHS General Induction for Construction Work in NSW (Green/White Card) or equivalent qualification. Please note that you must bring this qualification or the equivalent to be able to take part in the course. We are required by the RTA to refuse entry to participants arriving without the necessary prerequisites and certification.  Unfortunately, refunds cannot be offered to participants who do not have the necessary pre-requisites and a 50% rebooking fee will be charged to book another course date. 

What subjects are covered in the course?

Topics covered in the course include the following: 

  • identify safety implications of traffic control at road works and personal responsibilities;
  • set up and close down traffic control devices according to a nominated traffic control plan to OHS and legislative requirements;
  • operate a 2-way radio correctly and effectively;
  • check, clean and store equipment on completion of work and close down a traffic control plan.

What certification will you receive?

Successful participants will receive the following certification: 

  • Statement of Completion issued by the Infront Staffing trainer on the day of the course;
  • RTA NSW Yellow Card (wallet size) is sent direct to the participant after processing; The RTA NSW Traffic Control Plans Yellow Card qualification is valid for 3 years.
