Blue Card Training – Traffic Control NSW

To work as a Traffic Controller in NSW it is a Roads & Traffic Authority (RTA) requirement that everyone holds a current Traffic Controller's Photo Licence. The Blue Card Training course offered by Infront Staffing is accredited by the NSW RTA, and is also known as the 'Stop Slow' course, 'Lollipop' course, or the 'RTA Blue Card' course.

This Blue Card Training course is a one day course that will provide you with the following:

  • Learn the required knowledge and skills to perform traffic control
  • Understand safety of the public and co-workers
  • Be able to control traffic with a slow stop bat
  • Obtain a blue card if you successfully complete the blue card training course.

Please note that if you intend to be directing traffic at a construction site or in any area where construction is taking place you will need to have a NSW Construction Induction certificate (Green Card or also known as White Card). 

Pre-requisites for the Blue Card Training course include:

Australian Drivers’ License

1) A NSW P2 driver's licence (Green P's) / NSW unrestricted drivers license or

2) A NSW unrestricted driver's licence that has class "R" (rider) only or

3) A licence from another Australian State or Territory that is the equivalent or better than the above points 1 and 2 or

4) Previous history of having a P2 licence (minimum) at some stage or

5) Current Traffic Control ticket using a Stop/Slow Bat.  

or Overseas Drivers License - A licence from another country that is the equivalent or better than the levels specified for an Australian driver's license is accepted. However it must be translated by the  Community Relations Commission or the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. The license issue date must be a minimum 12 months prior the date of training.

Successful participants in the Blue Card Training course will receive a wallet sized card issued by the NSW RTA. This card is valid for 3 years.
