About This Traffic Control Training Course
This traffic control course provides training for staff who are required to control traffic with a stop slow bat. Designed by the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority, this one day course will provide participants with the required knowledge and skills to perform traffic control with the safety of the public and co-workers in mind. Note that to obtain a Traffic Controller Blue Card you must have a drivers license (minimum Green P or equivalent) and a Construction Induction certificate (Green Card / White Card or equivalent from other states). Course Duration
The time for delivery and assessment of this traffic control course is 6 hours (certificates issued on the day upon successful completion of the course).
The traffic control course will be conducted at our St Peters training facility, located at 23 Barwon Park Road, St Peters, Sydney (10 minutes by train from Central Station).

Topics covered in this traffic control course include the following:
- Understand the role of a Traffic Controller
- Apply the procedures of traffic controlling within a worksite
- Operate a 2-way radio correctly
- Promote the role of a traffic controller in the community
Training Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course participants will receive an RTA approved Statement of Completion in “OHS Work Activity Training for Traffic Controller” - issued on the day. In addition the RTA will also issue a STOP/SLOW Bat Card for those who have completed the course successfully. These cards will be forwarded by the RTA to our CBD office to be collected by participants at: Level 3, 283-285 Clarence Street, Sydney 2000 or alternatively can be mailed to them if a mailing address is organised on the day of training.
** FOR THOSE COLLECTING CARDS FROM OUR OFFICE, YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BY PHONE OR TEXT THAT YOUR CARD HAS ARRIVED. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE CARDS TO THE RTA IF NOT COLLECTED WITHIN 3 MONTHS FROM NOTIFICATION OF ARRIVAL.
What You Need to Bring
Please ensure you bring originals of the following:
- OHS General Induction for Construction Work in NSW (Green/White Card OR equivalent qualifications obtained in other Australian states)
- A drivers License (Provisional 2, Green P minimum) or RTA print out of your driving record. This is essential and you will not be able to take part in the course without it.
- Closed shoes (Sandals, thongs or other open toed shoes are not permitted)
- A pen
